A Cert IV in Music is your gateway to a career in the music industry. This course is designed for aspiring musicians, producers, artists, music industry professionals, and entrepreneurs ready to take their skills to the next level. This course delivers a dynamic blend of creative, business, and operational training designed for emerging music industry professionals.
Graduates of this course can pursue diverse roles across the music and creative industries, including positions such as artist manager or talent manager, music business owner or entrepreneur, royalty administrator, music licensing or copyright coordinator, event coordinator or tour manager, and venue manager or administrator. Opportunities also exist as festival or gig promoters, music marketing coordinators, media and asset managers, and distribution managers.
You’ll explore the following subjects:
- Musical styles and genres.
- Learn how to enhance your creative practice through feedback and skill development, and manage essential aspects such as copyright, media assets, and artist royalties.
- Business-focused modules - investigate opportunities, develop business plans, and establish operational strategies for new ventures.
- Book and administer performance venues, manage music distribution.
- Implement marketing strategies, communicate with influence, and effectively manage project timelines.

MUSIC EDUCATION REMIXED
All OCA students have access to industry practices, resources and education within a 360-degree creative hub designed for artists, bands, managers, music entrepreneurs, producers, and songwriters.
PERFORM - Perform in our monthly emerging artist showcase held at Oxford Art Factory. If you’re more of a behind-the-scenes person, work on any aspect of this event, from promotion to event management.
PRODUCE - Define your sound with hands-on artist development & learn how to produce your strongest work in the studio.
RELEASE - Access label and distribution services to release your music or work with emerging artists to release theirs with no upfront costs.
LEARN - You’ll study a nationally recognised Cert IV in Music and choose your specialisation in Entertainment Business Management, Music Production or Live Performance.
PLUS! All OCA students receive free entry to 4 gigs at Oxford Art Factory monthly for professional development and networking opportunities. You choose the gigs, and we’ll add you to the VIP list.
